In April, two Georgia Tech swim team members from decades back returned to the pool and took top honors at the U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championships.
John D. Corse, Cls 42, placed first in the 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and the 50-yard butterfly. Ed Graves, IM 51, won second place in the 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard breaststroke, third in the 100-yard freestyle and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle.
Both men were part of the team that won first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay for swimmers in the over 85 age bracket, clocking in at 3:05:24 and breaking the long-standing national record in that event by 33 seconds.
