Sachin Shailendra, CE 01, has been appointed to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. The Board of Regents is the body that oversees the 31 public colleges and universities in the state. The board also has oversight of the Georgia Archives and the Georgia Public Library System.
Shailendra, of Atlanta, is president of SG Contracting, a full-service construction management and general contracting company based in Atlanta. Shailendra sits on the Advisory Council for Woodward Academy, where he is an alumnus and past president of its alumni association. He is also a member of the Atlanta Opera Board and the Children’s Healthcare Sports Network Board. He is a past member of the Board of Trustees for the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Board of Visitors for Emory University, the Georgia Network to End Sexual Assault and the Government Affairs Council of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
