The Georgia Tech Student Alumni Association’s 2011 launch event was a huge success, with more than 1,600 students signing up as members.
The event was held Sept. 15 across campus. Students could learn more about SAA, sign up and get free food and other items during the day at seven stations across Tech. Then, at night, the Tech Tower Lawn was home to an SAA celebration that featured food from alumnus Riccardo Ullio’s restaurants. SAA members also were able to connect with Tech alumni.
To sign up for SAA, students make a $10 gift. Of that, $5 goes to the Roll Call annual fund and $5 goes toward a gift back to Tech. SAA members vote to decide which gift project to support.
Relaunched last year after a hiatus, the SAA overnight became one of Tech’s largest student organizations. To learn more about the SAA, visit the SAA website. And to see more photos of the SAA launch event, visit the SAA Flickr page.
