Glee Club To Release New Album

Engineers Are People Too is the title of an upcoming album from the Georgia Tech Glee Club that features new arrangements of popular songs.

The Glee Club—Tech’s oldest student organization—had previously released an album, Sing, Kindred Voices, in 2007. The club says the new release “is meant to capture the healthy irreverence and the Tech spirit upon which the group is built.” The Georgia Tech Student Foundation and Tech Auxiliary Services supported the album’s creation.

For more information, visit the Glee Club website. Glee Club music also is available on iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic and at cdbaby.com.

The tracks on the new album are:

  • “The Summer of ’69,” composed by Bryan Adams
  • “Brown Eyed Girl/The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” composed by Van Morrison
  • “Stand by Me,” composed by Ben E. King
  • “Beach Boys Medley,” composed by The Beach Boys
  • “Basket Case,” composed by Green Day
  • “Prayer,” composed by Kurt Bestor
  • “Seven Bridges Road,” composed by The Eagles
  • “Spirit in the Sky,” composed by Norman Greenbaum
  • “Down By the Riverside,” an old barbershop tune
  • “Bind Me,” composed by Jerry Ulrich

You guys balance the harmonic equations well! Thanks for keeping the Ramblin’ ‘Reck spirit vibrant in voice and song. A 1969 alumnus, I will be at your Spivey Hall November 13 concert, truly honored that you are singing my newest lyric, “Ship of State”, as part of it! Thank you! Larry Wayne Brown, BAE 1969
