For as harrowing as 2009 was for Tech student Patrick Whaley, 2010 is turning into a banner year.
In 2009, Whaley was shot through the chest during a robbery. Now, he’s set to graduate from Tech with a mechanical engineering degree during the Aug. 6 commencement ceremony. And in March he took home the top honor in the InVenture Prize competition for his Omega Wear invention.
The latest achievement came July 15, when CNN featured a lengthy interview with Whaley about Omega Wear, a weighted apparel, and his recovery from the shooting. More information on Omega Wear is available on Whaley’s Web site.
